How I gained 100k followers on Instagram in 30 days

đź‘‹ Hey everyone,

Over almost a decade on Instagram, I've built a community of more than 300k and learned a lot along the way.

I'm not claiming to be an Instagram guru with a bulletproof system, but I can offer insights into what's worked for me.

So, today I'm excited to reveal:

  • How I gained 100k followers in 30 days.

  • My current strategies for growth.

Let’s dive in!

🚀 Gaining 100k Followers in 30 Days

In 2022, stuck at 50k followers and hesitant about reels due to burnout from TikTok, I finally decided to commit to daily reels.

The initial effort didn't really show results right away, but persistence and understanding what my audience enjoyed eventually led to explosive growth.

I actually made a video about that journey, you can watch it here.

Honestly, stepping out of my comfort zone and consistently creating content was the real game changer - if I can, you can.

🤔 What’s Working for Me Now?

Unlike YouTube, Instagram isn’t really a search engine, so your content doesn’t live as long and can quickly get drowned in the sea of content.

That means: it’s important to post often to sustain that juicy growth.

I’ve also noticed that when I take a break for longer than two weeks, my reach and engagement drops significantly.

Like it or not, consistency is super crucial on Instagram, and I’ve learned to maintain this consistency to keep it growing.

I’ll share with you how in the next section.

🌱 Current Strategy for Growth

Instagram is always evolving. Currently, reels offer great exposure, and posts are also achieving impressive reach, thanks to recent algorithm updates.

My strategy? I create about 66% reels and 33% posts to strike a good balance.

As we've discussed, posting often matters. While I don’t think daily posts are necessary anymore, my goal is 4-5 uploads per week, with stories in between to satisfy the all-mighty algorithm 🙇.

I also batch script, film, and edit. Honestly, I don't even turn on the camera unless I have at least 10 reels scripted and ready to film.

This approach was a game-changer for me, and It's the primary reason I can maintain the high volume of content I produce regularly.

For organization, I find Notion to be the best tool for keeping my scripts organized and tracking all my content through its different stages. You can get my template here.

But, you could also use simple notes or docs. The key is to give yourself time and have a specific place to write down your ideas and scripts, making it easier to keep track of them.

Go out of your way to provide as much value as you can, and remember, the time to create is now. Don't wait.

Catch you in the next one!

Best,
ArnĂşlfur

đź’Ž My weekly gem’s

I'm currently with family in the mountains, so I haven’t consumed any content this week.

For those new to our community, in this section, I typically share content that I found particularly interesting or helpful throughout the week.

We'll pick this back up next week!
